The family of Robert Jake Ortega would very much appreciate the help while he battles a very aggressive form of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. To many Robert is know as RJ or Beto. He is such an amazing young man who is so eager to beat this horrible disease. Let me start by sharing a little of his story. At the end of October 2018, RJ’s symptoms started with loss of appetite, he could not keep food down, pain in his hip, swelling in right leg, bloating and headaches. After several trips to his primary doctor he was told it was a pinched nerve, constipation, and that he was sitting too long on his fork lift at work. All the while his symptoms continued to get worse. Finally he went to St. Joseph Hospital ER because his symptoms became unbearable. The doctors there found several masses all over his body and fluid in his stomach and lungs. At this time RJ was admitted into the Hospital for about a week. At this time Dr. AJ diagnosed RJ with High Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma. He immediately did 6 rounds of strong chemotherapy, 5 day treatments at a time. He waited 2 to 3 weeks in between each treatment. RJ began to get stronger each time. After his final round of Chemo he went back for follow up test. Unfortunately on 5/30/19 Dr. AJ said the Cancer returned and now called it Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, Stage 4. His doctor said it's not good news, it is very aggressive and his doctor thinks he has a 30 to 40 percent chance of beating it this time around. RJ is such a great son, grandson and brother and his family is ready to fright this fight by his side. He will have treatment this time around at UC Davis in Sacramento. He currently has medical insurance however everything is not covered at 100% and he is accruing extra medical expenses as well as travel expenses. The family is asking for any type of assistance with covering some of these cost so he can focus only on beating this disease. All donations and prayers are very much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
