A Month After the Fire: From Loss to Homelessness – We Need Your Immediate Support

We are reaching out again, one month after the devastating fire at River Haven Mobile Home Park that destroyed everything for our longtime resident.

The initial outpouring of support, which raised $615, was a lifeline for immediate small necessities, and we are incredibly grateful. However, the true scale of her crisis has become clear, and she is now facing insurmountable financial burdens that have left her effectively homeless and living in her car.

The tragedy is far from over. She did not just lose her home; she is now trapped in a cycle of costs and uncertainty:

The Immediate Barrier: Trailer Removal (Urgent Goal): The biggest obstacle right now is the mandatory removal of the burnt-out mobile home from the park. This is a significant, unplanned expense she cannot afford. Until this massive debris is cleared, she cannot move forward.

Still No Home: The Housing Crisis: Without a first, last, and security deposit for a new apartment or mobile home, she has been forced to spend her days in her car, having lost her safety net and her beloved three cats. Securing stable housing is her most critical and immediate need.

Mounting Monthly Costs: In a painful twist, she is still required to pay the monthly lot rent at the mobile home park for the burnt trailer, adding financial pressure to her trauma. She is also paying for a storage dumpster and a small storage unit to slowly and painfully sift through the few salvageable items and keepsakes.

The initial fire left her with nothing. Now, the aftermath is costing her everything.

Your donation will directly address these three critical, practical needs:

1. Urgent Trailer Removal: To clear the site and allow her to officially move on from the park.

2. First, Last, & Security Deposit: To secure stable, safe housing and get her out of her car immediately.

3. Essential Start-Up Funds: To help cover the ongoing lot rent and replace basic furniture clothing, and lost documents.

Every dollar is a direct step toward getting her out of her car and helping her finally start the long road to recovery. Please help us lift this immense weight so she can begin to heal from the loss of her home and her cherished pets.

If you shared before, please share again. This situation is now a fight for basic shelter.
