River (Melissa Enyeart) is a wise, playful, earth-loving goddess of a woman — with a twinkle in her eyes and music in her blood. Many of us know her from years of dancing, creating urban art, being in intentional circles, and working the land together. She is the proud mother of Euphoria (22), beloved daughter to David and Marguerite, and she just celebrated her 46th birthday on March 1st.
Just days before her birthday, River received devastating news: her breast cancer has returned — and it has spread to her bones.
We are all coming together now to surround her with practical support and unwavering love.
River’s Cancer Journey
River previously battled breast cancer in 2014–2015 and was in remission.
On February 11th, she went to the hospital with intense pain in her hips and back. Doctors discovered estrogen-driven breast cancer that has metastasized to her spine, ribs, hips, chest, and skull. When the breast cancer spread to the bones, it was considered Stage IV.
During a week-long hospital stay, she received five radiation treatments to help relieve the pain.
Next steps include:
Strong pain management
Intensive hormone therapy to target the cancer
Continued medical monitoring and treatment
This is serious — and it is an active fight. River is meeting this moment as a spiritual warrior.
The Financial Reality
River has always worked hard — most recently landscaping with a team of women, a job she loved because she could “turn ugly things beautiful, be outside in the sun, and work in teamwork like she’d never experienced before, benefiting the environment and Mother Nature.”
Right now:
- She cannot safely drive due to pain medications.
- Sitting upright for long periods is painful.
- Working is not currently possible.
- She has exhausted unemployment benefits.
- She is pursuing FAMLI.
- She plans to apply for disability — but we have been told approval can take 1–2 years.
- Her basic cost of living is approximately $2,000 per month (rent, utilities, groceries, essentials, holistic care).
We are asking for $25,000 to cover roughly nine months of living expenses so she can focus on treatment and pain management while long-term support systems are put in place.
We reach our goal when:
100 people give $250
500 people give $50
1,000 people give $25
Every amount matters.
What Your Gift Makes Possible
Your donation ensures that River can:
- Keep her apartment
- Keep her lights on
- Buy nourishing food
- Afford prescriptions and uncovered medical costs
- Access supportive holistic care
- Focus on healing instead of survival
Financial stability is medicine right now.
Other Ways You Can Help
In addition to giving financially, you can make a powerful difference:
- Share this GoFundMe with a personal note about what River means to you
- Join our weekly Prayer Circle on Monday nights at 9pm Mountain Time. Send Reiki attunement, prayer, meditation, or loving intention from wherever you are.
- Offer to bring meals, help with cleaning, grocery shop, or visit. We may create a signup sheet, but are keeping things simple for now by directly contacting River.
There is a support team in place that will post updates here regularly. Please follow the campaign even if you can’t donate, so that you’ll receive those updates and hear about in-person ceremonies, etc.

A Final Word
River has spent her life tending the earth, creating beauty, and loving fiercely.
Now it is our turn to tend her.
Let us hold her as a Spiritual Warrior.
Let us believe in the highest possible outcome.
Let us show up in tangible, generous, embodied love.
Thank you for standing with River.
From Poet Laureate Andrea Gibson: "A new sense of peace found me—not in the absence of hardship, but in ceasing to resist it, in learning to meet life as it is."
