Please help River. He is 21 years old, my sisters only son. He is a tall, 6 ft 5, hard working young man. At 2:54 p.m. yesterday, Wednesday April 20th, a car pulled out in front of him. His work buddy was driving behind him and saw everything. He said River did all he could to avoid catastrophe, but it wasn't to be. The car that caused the accident kept going. River and another car were caught in the event. Both drivers were airlifted to Trauma Center in St. Mary's hospital West Palm Beach Florida. From here, this is hard to write. His L1 vertebrae is shattered and a broken left arm. Surgery is sometime this morning. The Dr.s give my sister no hope for walking again. We ask for prayers to our God in Jesus name. As we are grateful for his Dr.s and all they are doing, our God is bigger than all Dr.s. River is so big, so young. He is such a hard working young man making a name for himself as a savant mechanic on boats in Florida. He recently puchased his own home, being a man at 21. He has many friends. He is a happy active young man. When he was young, he was the boy mowing lawns in the neighborhood. He has worked in auto shops and boat shops. Both of his parents worked in the auto repair industry. He learned to weld. I was visiting recently and he told me his work asked him to tow a boat in for repair. He said, "I wanted to drive it in, so I fixed it right there." And he drove it in. There are few boys and young men now who work so hard because they love to work. His smile and vibrant life is going to be difficult. I don't know his insurance situation but I know he works week to week for his needs. His mom and dad are likewise. All of his friends and family will do all we can, but this is going to be giant. With your help, we can be David, and the obsticals can be Goliath. Please pray for the miracle of walking again before and above any financial help in the name of Jesus. Thank you. In God we Trust.
