Help Ritu and Purvi Rebuild Their Lives in Barcelona

A year ago, Ritu and her young daughter Purvi made the courageous decision to leave India and start over in Barcelona, Spain. They fled a situation of domestic violence and control, hoping to find safety and freedom. Unfortunately, Ritu’s family abandoned her after her divorce, leaving her alone in a foreign land.

Ritu used the gold she had saved from her wedding to secure temporary visas for herself and Purvi. Since arriving, she has worked tirelessly as a cleaner and cook for several Asian families, providing for her daughter and trying to create a safe, stable life.

Recently, Ritu’s family in India has taken out a loan in her name and created a legal case against her. This prevents her from returning to India and continues to trap her in a cycle of abuse, even from afar. Her family exploited a vulnerable moment, taking advantage of her trust. Ritu now needs to resolve this legal issue to lift the restrictions and continue building a life free from fear.

Through all of this, Ritu has shown incredible resilience. She met Vishy here in Barcelona, who has been supporting her as she works to raise funds to break free from this cycle of abuse and reclaim her life.
