Rita Thacker is a kind, sweet, and God-fearing woman who attends my wife's bible study. She is an older lady who has recently found herself without a home and is currently staying with her daughter in another state. Despite her own struggles, Rita continues to inspire those around her with her faith and gentle spirit. Our hope is to surprise her with a working vehicle when she returns to New Mexico, so she can regain some independence and stability in her life.

Rita's car has seen better days. It has worn down tires, is missing a front bumper, the power steering is completely shot, and the key ignition doesn't work. The upholstery is held up by thumb tacks, the maintenance light is on, and it likely hasn't had any service in quite some time. There may be even more issues that we haven't discovered yet, as the car hasn't been fully checked by a mechanic. Without a reliable vehicle, Rita faces even more challenges as she tries to get back on her feet.
