Help Rita Rykowski beat Stage 4 Colon Cancer!

Dear Friends, Family, and those who have been touched by my mom, Rita,
As some may know, my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, which metastasized to her liver late last year. Many of you know my mom as a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother to my sister Marchela and me, my father Jarek, and my two little boys, Hunter and Myles. With this devastating diagnosis, we know my mom is facing a challenging journey ahead. We are reaching out to our community, friends, and anyone with a compassionate heart to join us in supporting our family during this difficult time.
As news of my mom's battle spread, many friends and family have expressed a desire to help. This GoFundMe campaign is our way of creating a single, unified source of support for my mom, providing her with the flexibility she needs as my parents navigate through this journey.
Your contribution to this campaign will serve as a lifeline and a source of strength for the family as my parents confront the unpredictable nature of my mom's treatment and the evolving needs that may arise. The funds raised will be used for medical costs and necessary treatments.
Late last year, my grandmother passed away from what the doctors believe was liver cancer, which triggered my mom to get her cancer markers checked while visiting Poland for grandma's funeral. Her cancer marker CA 19-9 had come back high. When she came back home, her doctor recommended a colonoscopy to be done after performing more blood work and a CT scan that showed some signs of cancer. When my mom woke up from the colonoscopy procedure, she was told on the spot that she had stage 4 colon cancer. Our lives have shattered into pieces. Not only were we all grieving our grandmother, but now we are all facing a new challenge. To say that we are scared/afraid is an understatment. The months followed we were in and out of the doctor offices, trying to find the best treatment for my mom. In the meantime, my mother started feeling very bad and ended up going to the ER on March 12,2024. On March 13, she had an emergency colon resection surgery due to her colon closing. It was a succfesful surgery - we strongly believe God and my grandmother were strongly present during the surgery and guided the surgeons hands.
Currently, my mother is in recovery after her surgery , and we are focusing on treating her liver lesions with advanced treatments. Your donations, thoughts, and prayers will make a meaningful impact on her path to recovery.
