Help Ripley Recover After Dog Attack

Donation protected

On Friday April 24th, Ripley, our 1.5 year old cat, was attacked by a loose dog while she was hanging out in our yard. The attack lasted for about three minutes before I was able to intervene and chase the dog away. Ripley’s injuries were severe—her back leg was broken and she suffered multiple deep bite wounds. We rushed her to our veterinarian, who provided emergency care, but her injuries were too extensive for their facility. She was transferred to Puget Sound Veterinary Group for 24-hour critical care and surgery.

Ripley made it through the first weekend and was ready for surgery by Tuesday. During the operation, doctors discovered significant damage to her knee and muscle, and she needed a bone graft to repair her leg. Thanks to their care, Ripley survived the surgery and was able to come home the next day. She’s a true fighter, but her recovery has been rough. She’s on four medications and a probiotic, can’t walk or use her litter box, and needs constant care. We expect she’ll need another surgery for her muscle tissue soon.

The financial burden has been overwhelming. The costs keep growing, and the owners of the dog have not come forward, leaving us to manage everything on our own. We’re reaching out to our community for help—any donation, no matter the size, will go directly to Ripley’s care and help us get through this difficult time. If you can’t donate, please share our story. We appreciate any support you can give.
