Help Ripley Fight Parvo: Urgent Care Needed

Donation protected
On Saturday, I saw that there was a litter of puppies dumped at the side of a mountain with their mom. I thought since I was working from home, I could take one of the puppies and nourish it and love it. The Humane Society stepped in to help me. They gave me the first round of shots for him. The first two days went great. He ate, drank water, and really seemed like he was perking up and getting used to humans.

Sunday evening, things took a dramatic turn. I don’t necessarily want to go into the details, but he couldn’t keep anything inside of him. I reached out to the Humane Society, and they allowed me to take him to their vet. He tested immediately positive for Parvo.

Even though I did animal rescue for many years in California, I never came across a situation like this. The Humane Society and I thought the best thing to do would be to euthanize him.

After speaking to the vet, he convinced me that I could probably bring him back to health from home. The Humane Society paid $300 to hydrate him and send home his medicines.

Since Monday afternoon, I’ve been fighting for this little guy’s life. I’ve been taking him daily to get fluids. Things are very touch and go.

I think I’m going to give him another 24 hours. The Humane Society is out of funds and cannot help me any longer. I want to keep fighting. I work from home.

I have followed the vet's recommendations on bleaching, washing, and everything else that they have recommended.

I unfortunately cannot afford any more care after today. My option was to try this GoFundMe. This will give me the funds to continue the sub-Q fluids they have been giving him daily. If I raise enough money, I would like to have them take over care or humanely euthanize him. I really am at a loss of what to do right now.

My thought is if somebody or a few of my friends could just donate five or ten dollars each, I could continue for a few more days and see if he turns around. If he does and there’s any funds left over, I will send the money back to you. Any help is greatly appreciated. If you can’t help financially, prayers are much appreciated.

His name is Ripley.

Some of you may want to directly send the money to the vet, and I will call them in the morning and ask them if they can allow that.

Thank you for reading this and thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
