Hi, my name is Rio Martinez and I’m currently about to start my bachelor's degree in English at MTSU this fall. I’ve known I was trans for years, almost a decade now. It has not always been easy, however, I am fortunate to have made it this far. If you know me, you know I do not typically reach out for help.

However, recently I learned my insurance has a ban on trans care, meaning I have to pay out of pocket for my medically necessary top surgery. I’m doing what I can to set aside money, but it is very hard to with all of my expenses and putting myself through college.
