Help Riley Fight Ependymoma
Donation protected
My daughter, Riley, has been diagnosed with Grade 2 Ependymoma, a rare type of cancer in her spine after literally years of trying to get multiple doctors to listen to her regarding back pain she’s been experiencing since at least 2019. Because she went undiagnosed for so long, the cancer in her spinal column has been left to grow and infiltrate her spinal cord and nerves and very nearly robbed her of her ability to walk. Removal of the tumor is usually how this is treated, but because it has grown so large (spans from T10-L5), that’s not a safe option for her, so she will be going through aggressive radiation daily for a little over 4 weeks. After that time, they will reassess and decide what other treatment may be needed. There are side effects from the radiation, some devastating, and costs associated with her treatment. She is a full-time grad student with insurance through her school. Some costs are covered by her plan, some are not. This is a huge burden for a 24-year old on a very limited income who is fighting for her life. I want to help ease her burden some and we welcome your support in whatever way you’re able. If not monetarily, then by holding her up, loving and encouraging her as well as sharing if you feel comfortable. Thank you!!!
