UPDATE: Riku is not doing well and I fear at this point he is only suffering. The infection is running rampant, he can't barely walk, can't jump up on the couch, and can only eat small licks of lickable treats.
At this point I feel it's most humane to have him put to sleep, but I can't even afford that. I'm asking for $400 if anyone could help me end his pain and have him cremated so that I may immortalize him in some fashion when I can.
Riku has been my companion for 15 years, standing by my side through every challenge life has thrown my way. He’s been with me in the darkest times, even living in my car with me when I didn’t have a home. Riku’s playful, sassy personality and incredible intelligence have always brought light into my life. He’s so sweet and cuddly, and even learned how to say my other cat’s name, Mello, when he was picking on him. Riku truly is the most perfect cat in the world, and his presence means everything to me.
Recently, Riku developed an ear infection and I’ve noticed growths that could be serious. I haven’t been able to afford a vet visit yet, but he needs to be sedated and thoroughly checked out to determine if the growths are cancerous. The costs for these procedures and possible surgery are overwhelming, and I want to make sure Riku gets the care he deserves as soon as possible. Every contribution will go directly toward his veterinary bills, diagnostics, and any treatment or surgery he may need.
Riku has given me unconditional love and support for so many years, and now I’m asking for help to give him the best chance at recovery. Your support will make a real difference in his life and help me ensure he gets the medical attention he urgently needs.
After a couple vet visits coming in around $400, they're saying he needs surgery from a more equipped vet hospital, also stating I will be looking at roughly $2000 for said surgery.
