Hi, my name is Rikki-Dianne, and I’m asking for help during one of the most overwhelming and time-sensitive moments in my life.
I was terminated from my job at Woodforest National Bank shortly after receiving approved medical accommodations that allowed me to safely perform my duties. Within about a week of those accommodations being put in place, I was let go.
I have since received a Right to Sue letter from the EEOC, which means I now have a limited amount of time to take legal action. My official filing deadline is May 3rd, but in order to meet that deadline, I must secure an attorney no later than April 10th.
Unfortunately, I’ve run into a major obstacle—securing legal representation in time. Many attorneys are overwhelmed with cases, and those who are available are charging between $400–$750 for just a 30–45 minute consultation, with no guarantee they will even take my case. After already losing valuable time believing I had representation, I am now facing significant costs just to speak with attorneys before my deadline passes. Time is critical. I have until April 10th to secure an attorney so I can meet my May 3rd filing deadline.
As someone who works hard, and I’ve always tried to do everything I can to support my family. This sudden loss of income, combined with the high cost of legal consultations and representation, has placed me in an incredibly difficult position.
I am raising funds to help cover:
Attorney consultation fees ($400–$1000 per meeting)
Legal representation and filing costs
Travel fees (attorneys are in Columbia or Charleston area, since I'm in the country, LOL)
This is not just about my situation—it’s about standing up for fair treatment and ensuring that employees who require accommodations are not pushed out unfairly.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this would mean so much. Thank you for your support, encouragement, and for taking the time to read my story. ❤️
