Our beloved little man Rigby Butternut has been diagnosed with cancer.
He's been my companion for over a decade, and almost exactly a year ago he 'married' his wife, Darla.
When Rigby recently began having difficulty swallowing food, we took him in to see a vet and upon examination, she discovered a mass obstructing his throat. We still never imagined it could possibly be cancer. . . then received the test results, and I am completely shattered.
Rigby is a tough guy, and I do believe he will have many more happy, healthy years ahead of him if we can just provide the care he needs to beat this.
Unfortunately we simply cannot afford further medical care for our little man, which will include several rounds of blood tests, x-rays, and oral chemotherapy.
I love him beyond words - he's kept me going when I've been at my lowest moments. . . and he's got lots more living to do, lots more treats to eat, lots more snuggles to give and receive, and definitely lots more kisses and preens to exchange with his newlywed sweetheart Darla!
Thank you kindly for reading, and for any contributions you are able to give.
