On Wednesday evening, our family experienced a devastating tragedy when a fire tore through the apartment complex on Marina Drive in Edison, New Jersey. My son, his wife, and their two young boys escaped with their lives, but they lost nearly everything they owned. The fire spread rapidly through the building, forcing families to flee in the middle of the night. Their home, clothing, furniture, personal belongings, children’s necessities, important documents, and everyday essentials were destroyed or left inaccessible. Heartbreakingly, their beloved pet cat Lilu and five fish perished in the fire.
Right now, they are displaced and trying to secure temporary housing while rebuilding their lives from scratch. As parents of two young children, they are facing overwhelming emotional and financial stress during this difficult time. Donations will go toward temporary housing and hotel expenses, clothing and shoes, food and daily necessities, baby and children’s items, replacing furniture and household essentials, transportation and emergency expenses, and long-term rebuilding costs.
We are asking for help from friends, family, neighbors, and anyone willing to support this young family as they recover from this tragedy. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference and help this family begin again. Most importantly, we are grateful they made it out safely together. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers, and if possible, share this fundraiser with others. Thank you for your kindness and support.
