Help Ricky in his fight against cancer

UPDATE ON RICKY

It is with such a heavy heart that Ricky passed away on Wednesday 5th October 2022. He fought so hard right up until the end but his body was just too tired.

Over the last 2 months Ricky had been in hospital fighting Covid and then Pneumonia and most recently the Leukemia spread through to his liver and he deteriorated quickly over his last few days.

Ricky Leaves behind his beautiful partner Stevie, loving Mother- Debbie, Father- Mark, Sisters- Carly, Kristy and Caitlin and Fur Baby- Honey and extended family that love him so much and were by his side right up until the end.

As you can imagine none of our lives will ever be the same without our Ricky so I ask if you can continue to donate to this page, all funds will be going straight to Stevie to help her financially in this unimaginable time.

We thank everyone who helped in Ricky’s journey and continue to help and I hope everyone can gain some inspiration from our warrior who fought so hard and was so positive the whole way through.

We all had a little bit of our hearts ripped out when you passed but you will never be forgotten Ricky.

Ricky had his big operation on March 30th to remove the large Germ Cell Tumour from his chest which was the size of a small football, no wonder he only had 40% lung capacity. Unfortunately as I write this Ricky has been back in hospital since the end of April in excruciating pain and has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (blood cancer). To say we are shocked and devastated is an understatement. He also still has the Liver Cancer but a recent PET scan is showing it is laying dormant after the TACE was a success and the operation for the liver has been put on hold due to the Leukaemia diagnosis. Ricky will start chemotherapy again this week and may need a Bone Marrow Transplant further on. All of his sisters will be tested to see if one of them are a compatible match. The doctors are scratching their heads and are stunned by one person having 3 different types of cancer as are we. Thank you to all our Family and Friends for all your kind messages and visits. Ricky’s life was turned upside down recently with the news he has been diagnosed with a Cancerous Germ Cell Tumor located near his lungs and heart and since has also been diagnosed with an unrelated separate Primary Liver Cancer. Originally he was starting his 3 month intense chemotherapy this week but since the recent diagnosis of the Liver Cancer, a different treatment plan will need to be implemented . He and is partner Stevie will be off work indefinitely while he receives his treatment. Ricky has always been the life of the party and everyone has a great story or 2 with him and now it’s our time to support him through his battle.
