Help Ricky Coleman and his medical bills

Donation protected

Hello, I am writing to ask you for your help. One of my best friends has found himself in a tough spot. I am assuming that most of you reading this will know who Ricky Coleman is. In case you do not, let me introduce you to him.

This is Ricky Coleman (and part of his amazing family).

Ricky is from Nashville, TN. A natural athlete, Ricky is good at literally every single sport I have ever seen him play. I had the pleasure of meeting Ricky when we became teammates in 2013 on the baseball team at Cumberland University. Ricky and I were roommates for two years and they were two of the best years of my life. Over those years we spent together I was able to learn more about Ricky, how much respect he had in his community, among his family and friends. Not only did he play a key role on our team, he played a key role in his family unit too! Ricky would give you the shirt off of his back in the middle of a blizzard.

It is now time that we give him the shirts off of our backs. Earlier in the year Ricky began struggling with an unknown illness.  After multiple tests, visits and opinions it was determined that Ricky's kidneys were not operating at full capacity. When this was initially discovered, Ricky's kidneys were functioning at 70%. Doctors tried to prescribe him medicine to improve his condition but it only made him feel worse and did not help. It has taken a turn for the worse since then. Currently, Ricky sits in a hospital for the second week in a row, undergoing daily dialysis treatments. He is not allowed visitors as his immune system is compromised and still has another week of dialysis before hopefully being allowed to go home. Currently, his kidneys are operating below 50%. This means that Ricky will need a kidney transplant as soon as he can possibly get one. He is currently on the list to receive a transplant but that is a long process that can take years before a donor can appear. Luckily there are some programs in place to speed up that process. Here is a link to some information about kidney donation programs. There will be a long list of medical bills that begin to stack up for Ricky. I know they have already begun. So we are asking you, Ricky's teammates, family, friends, the community of Nashville, Cumberland, Lipscomb, University School of Nashville, and anyone else to please donate what you can! We set the goal fairly high but nothing is too high when it comes to a man the caliber of Ricky Coleman. If Ricky has impacted your life in anyway, shape or form, please consider making a donation!

Thank you.
