Help Ricky Breathe Easy Fundraiser

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Strangers,

We're reaching out to you today to support a dear friend, son, brother, uncle, country club bartender, and all around great guy Ricky Miller.

Recently, on December 31, 2023, Ricky received a life-changing diagnosis of bilateral interstitial pneumonia, he was given steroids and antibiotics to treat the initial illness and was sent home. Unfortunately, on the morning of January 11th, he woke up with excruciating pain in his left side. He was rushed to the hospital where it was discovered that he had a massive infection in his chest cavity that had caused a lung to collapse. He was treated by the amazing doctors and nurses in the ICU at Bebee Medical Center in Lewes from January 12 to January 23 and he has since been discharged. Regrettably, his current condition requires at home care and multiple medications for the lengthy recovery ahead of him.

This illness has left him unable to work and he is facing an unknown period of recovery. As he focuses on regaining his health, the uncertainty of paying the medical bills that are mounting daily is adding an additional layer of stress to an already difficult situation. The financial burden of medical expenses, coupled with the loss of income during his recovery, has created a significant challenge for Ricky and his family.

Ricky has always been first to lend a helping hand, lend you an ear in a time of need, crack a joke, buy you a round at the bar, and bring people together for a good time. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, and he is definitely known to pour a stiff cocktail or two behind the sticks at Bear Trap Dunes.

Now it's our turn to come together and support him.

This is where we, as a community, can make a difference. We are launching the "Help Ricky Breathe Easy Fundraiser" to alleviate the financial strain and allow Ricky to concentrate on his recovery without the constant worry of the ever increasing medical bills.
