For those of you who have had the pleasure of meeting Rick Maxwell, I’m sure like myself you have been impressed with his overall strength and determination! When he sets a goal for himself, he reaches it! Well Rick has a new goal, and we are asking for the help of family, friends, and even strangers to help him once again accomplish another goal he is striving for and this one is to KICK CANCERS ASS!

For those who do not know Rick was diagnosed with Stage 3 Esophageal cancer in October 2022. In December he completed 5 weeks of radiation & chemotherapy with the goal of an Esophagectomy (a very complex surgery to cut out the remaining tumor) to take place in February. Unfortunately, he has experienced multiple medical complications in the 5-6 weeks following treatment that have left him in a position where he is not healthy or strong enough to endure a major surgery.

Rick is the sole provider for himself, and his wife Kathy. As a business owner, Rick has done his best to continue to be available for his customers but it is time that he puts himself and his health first. While Medicare covers a majority of the medical costs it does not cover everyday living expenses while Rick is unable to work and it does not cover prescriptions or any supplemental care.

What’s to Come...

While the most recent PET scan has shown that the tumor has shrunk, and he no longer has evidence of cancer in his lymphatic system (praise Jesus)- he is currently dealing with several other infections and issues. He will soon have a Feeding tube placed with the goal to provide nutrition to his body to ultimately get him healthy enough for the big surgery. But currently, we are at a life-threatening crossroads.
