My name is Rick, and I’m reaching out because my family and I are facing a tough time. On August 21st, I lost my job due to a series of medical issues, and since then, it’s been a struggle to keep up with our bills. I’m doing everything I can to get back on my feet, but right now, we’re falling behind on rent, court fees, car insurance, tickets, tolls, and even basic household supplies.

My family means everything to me. At home, it’s me, my wife Kathleen, our three sons Damien, Ian, and Jaxson (ages 8-18), and our two daughters Bella and Ary (ages 14-16). We also have three dogs—two huskies and a dachshund—who are part of our family too. Losing my job has made it hard to provide for everyone, especially when it comes to school supplies, clothes, and keeping our car running. The stress has been overwhelming, and I’m worried about keeping a roof over our heads. We’ve experienced homelessness before, and I’m determined not to let that happen again.

Any support we receive will help us cover our bills and basic needs while I search for a new job. We’re grateful for SNAP and Medicaid, but it’s not enough to get us through this rough patch.
