On the night of June 23rd, our beloved father Rick Kurek also known as Kooter was the victim of a devastating hit-and-run accident while riding a motorcycle. A speeding vehicle ran a stop sign, collided with him, and fled the scene, leaving him severely injured and fighting for recovery.

Kooter “Rick” sustained multiple traumatic injuries, including a shattered femur and hip, requiring an extensive 7-hour surgery. In just a few weeks, he will undergo another surgery as part of his long and difficult road to recovery.

As a self-employed mechanic, Kooter depends entirely on his ability to work with his hands and legs. This accident has taken away not only his mobility, but also his livelihood. He will be unable to work for several months, leaving him without income during a time when his medical needs and living expenses are rapidly increasing.

We’re asking for help from friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers to support Kooter through this unimaginable time. Donations will go directly toward medical supplies/bills, physical therapy, and essential living expenses for him and his children.
