Help Rick Heal and Get Back on His Feet

Donation protected
On Friday, January 10th, Rick came home early from work thinking he had a cold. Throughout the weekend, the cold seemed to get better, but he felt like his right ear was plugged. By Monday morning, it was bad enough that he decided to go to urgent care before heading to work. On arrival at urgent care, Rick began feeling VERY ill. He was then sent by ambulance to the ProHealth hospital in Mukwonago. On arrival in the ER, labs revealed that Rick, who had not seen a doctor in many years, was not only diabetic, he was in diabetic keto acidosis. In addition to that, he had a raging ear infection, and was now septic. His eardrum ruptured while in the ER, and he began bleeding from his ear. They determined he required immediate, critical care. He was taken via another ambulance to Waukesha Memorial Hospital where he was admitted to the ICU where he spent the next five days.

In addition to his hospital bills and many new medications, Rick has been unable to work since this saga began. As much as he loves working as a substitute teacher and driving Uber, neither offers paid time off.

Rick is a very loving brother, son, teacher and friend who would give the shirt off of his own back to anyone in need. Let's send that same generosity back to him in his time of need. Thanks so much.
