Help Rick Dean with Medical Expenses

A week after vacation with his entire family in August, Rick started having leg pain. He went to the ER, worried it was a blood clot. Due to his high heart rate and blood pressure, they scanned his chest and found a large mass in his lung. After many scans and tests and whatnot, Rick was told he has metastatic prostate cancer, mets to bone. While we got the answer to the leg pain, we still did not know if the lung was related or not. Radiation was scheduled to start to help his leg pain but not until after a lung biopsy was done to confirm if it was related to the prostate or a separate cancer. Before we got to that point, Rick ended up in the ER with a blood clot in his lung and pneumonia. Shortly after treatment was started for that, Rick had a stroke. He was transferred to Methodist in Omaha, where he remains now battling all these things. He can’t swallow and has very little movement of his left arm from the stroke. A biopsy was finally done on the lung which revealed he has, not only, stage 4 prostate cancer, but also stage 4 lung cancer. It is unknown where to go from here as he is still critical and on bipap. Radiation was put on hold due to him being on bipap and he is not in any condition to start chemo.
