Help Rick & David Rebuild After Losing Everything in the LA Fires
My uncles Rick and David have always put others first, and now they need help to rebuild from this unimaginable loss. In the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, Rick and David’s lives changed forever. They were awoken to an immediate evacuation notice, and shortly after their home along with all the homes in the surrounding area were caught in the maelstrom, leaving nothing behind but ashes. With little time to flee, they lost everything they owned – their home, their belongings, and their sense of security.
This tragedy couldn’t have come at a more difficult time. Several years ago, Rick stopped working to become the full-time caretaker for his mother, Yoli, who battles multiple sclerosis (MS) and dementia. Last year, Rick himself developed heart problems, and David stepped in to care for both Rick and Yoli.
Their selflessness has left them with no savings to fall back on. All they have left is their social security income – which isn’t enough to manage their ongoing medical bills, caregiving costs, or the urgent need to find a new place to live.
For decades, David has devoted himself to helping others in the AA community. He was always there to offer his assistance wherever and whenever the need arose. His dedication, encouragement and support has transformed countless lives. Now, David desperately needs your help.
