Several people have asked how they can help so I started a GoFundMe.

My pops, Rick Booth, lost everything during Hurricane Helene, even his truck. His place had 51” of water in it, as well as raw sewage that washed in, and needless to say this is going to be a long process. We have no timeline for insurance coverage, what is covered, how much is covered, etc. We are incredibly thankful that he was not harmed, as he did get stuck and was unable to leave the area due the quick rise of the water level. He was able to get to higher ground but only salvaged the clothes that he was wearing. I do not plan on telling him about this until GoFundMe until it’s over, so if you see/talk to him, please don’t mention it yet, he is stubborn and proud.
