Hello Everyone!

First, we would like to thank you for taking the time to view and read this page. Our loved father, grandfather, husband, brother and uncle, Rick was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 lung Cancer which has metastasized into the lymphatic system. Rick and his wife Rose were recently away when he started to notice that he was becoming short of breath and having difficulty breathing. While away Rick and Rose received the news that his mothers health had rapidly declined and she didn’t have much time left. They immediately turned around to head back home. Unfortunately, she passed away a few short hrs before they made it back home. After the passing of his mother, Rick was able to get into the Doctor to get his breathing and small lump on his neck assessed. The Dr. performed a number of different test to help determine what was going on. After getting the test results back, it was determined that he has a large mass in his right lung and it had started to spread throughout his lymphatic system in his chest and neck. Rick unfortunately is not a surgical candidate and needs to start treatment immediately.

Rick is a very proud and hard working man. He never asks anything of anyone and would never reach out to the world and ask for help. The reason we, his children, have decided to reach out for some assistance is for a few reasons. The first is to help with the costs associated with treatment. Thankfully, he does have insurance but will only cover up to 80%. Each chemotherapy and Immunotherapy treatment averages around $52,000.00, which we thought originally was around $10,000.00, and this is not including the additional testing he will need along the way. The second is to help with the cost of living over the next several months as he undergoes treatment. Between the physical symptoms he is experiencing from the tumor pressing up against his airway and symptoms that come from treatment he will be unable to work. His wife rose is also unable to work currently due to the help and care he is needing during this very difficult time.

The last thing we want is for him, being the man he is, is to have to worry about how they will pay their bills along with covering the costs of treatment he desperately needs to heal his body. Rick deserves to be able to take this time to get treatment and let his body heal. The last thing he needs during a time like this is the stress that comes along with worrying about finances.

Rick has spent his life dedicated to his wife, three kids and two small granddaughters. We all love him so much! He has worked hard his whole life to support his family and puts everyone’s needs, even strangers before his own. Rick has a kind and gentle heart and would give you the shirt off his back. Any of you who know him personally know how true that statement is.

We are going to do any and everything we can to make sure Rick gets the care he needs. Making sure he’s around for many years to come, watching his kids and grandkids grow, and spending his golden years traveling and enjoying life.
