Help Richie Ross & family after devastating event

On Thursday March 28th.
This young, healthy, active man who eats more salad than anyone on the planet and plays hockey 3 times a week and does body beast workouts. This guy who doesn't smoke, only drinks socially, and literally runs around the house with the kids and the dogs. He went into cardiac arrest on Thursday night while playing hockey. His heart flipped into Vfib. Thank God his friends wasted no time calling 911 and someone knew CPR and started it right away. I am grateful to them for saving his life.
The last day and a half have been the worst days of my life, but also the luckiest because he is still alive. He had a 95% blockage of one of the main arteries to his heart. He is on a ventilator right now while his lungs recover from aspirating during his cardiac catheterization. He is sedated, and so far we don't know if he had any brain damage from when his heart wasn't pumping properly. His heart suffered no permanent damage thank God, but he now has a stent and will likely be on medication for life. But the big question is his neurologic status, and I am just praying that he wakes up the same old goofy Richie that we all love.
So please pray that he recovers quickly, and that we get to bring him home, that my kids get their Daddy, and I get my Richie back. Please don't ignore it if you have chest pain, even if you are young and super strong like he is.
Update from Thursday April 4th.
So a little bit of a reality check today. They don't expect Richie to be off the ventilator for awhile. They also don't expect him to wake up for awhile. This is going to be a multiple week process. But being that he is young and healthy they still expect him to make a full recovery physically. He is currently fighting infection in his lungs, the rest of him is doing good. We can't say anything about his neurologic status until they can get him a little more alert and see if he can follow commands. They are going to try yet another type of sedation today to see if they can keep him comfortable but a little more awake (ketamine for my medical friends).
So I guess the point of this is there probably won't be much change day to day. I will still keep you posted but sounds like we are in for a Marathon, not a Sprint. We are also gonna ask to keep his visitors to a minimum for now. If you do really want to come see him just check with me or his mom or sister and see if its a good day to come. Sounds like I need to get used to the idea that he will be here awhile and I am gonna have to get back to work at some point and figure out how to make it work at home without him for a bit.
