The Richfield Historical Society needs your help in saving a piece of Minnesota history.
The Bartholomew House is the oldest standing house in the City of Richfield and one of the few remaining examples of the average home in the 19th century.
Today, the Bartholomew House serves as a free admission, open to the public museum - and a living example of what life was like for working-class people of that time.
It is for this reason that much effort has been put into preserving this old home. Over 170 years later, the roof of the historic Bartholomew House is in dire need of repair and the second floor has been closed to the public due to structural concerns, leaving a large part of the museum off-limits.
Behind the scenes, we have been pursuing a multi-point plan to restore this old house. Currently, we are in the process of getting drawings made for construction. Once the drawing stage is complete, we can apply for large grants that will pay for the construction work to be done.
With no city, state or federal funding, the Richfield Historical Society needs your support to make these critical and urgent repairs.
Donations to this fund are strictly restricted to the house's needs.
