My wife suffered a stroke in September of 2023, and our lives changed overnight. She’s still in a physical therapy nursing home, working hard every day to regain her strength and mobility, but she’s not able to come home yet. Losing her income was a huge blow to our family, and before I could find a way to supplement it, we fell behind on our bills. I had to make the difficult decision to file for bankruptcy, and now I’m facing significant monthly payments on top of our mortgage.
We’ve always been responsible with our finances—my wife and I have been married for 18 years and never had backup or late bills. Asking for help isn’t easy for me; I’ve always tried to give to others when I could. But several neighbors on the Nextdoor network encouraged me to try GoFundMe, and I’m reaching out now in hopes of keeping our home and maintaining the payments that will help us get back on track.
If you choose to help us, I promise to use your support wisely and pay it forward to others in need, using any abilities and talents I have. Thank you for reading our story, and God bless you all. Merry Christmas.
