My name is Richard, and I’ve been out of work since last month. I’ve been applying everywhere, but I haven’t gotten the green light for a new job yet. On top of that, I ran into problems signing up for unemployment, so I haven’t been able to get any help there. My partner has been trying to cover my costs, but it’s getting harder for both of us to keep up with all the bills and expenses.

Right now, I’m struggling to cover my car insurance, car loan, food, and gas. Living in Kalkaska means I often have to travel about 40 minutes just to find better job opportunities, so having a working car is essential. I’m doing everything I can to get back on my feet, but I need a little help to make it through this tough time. I also have three dogs and a cat who depend on me for food and shelter, and I want to make sure they’re safe and cared for too.

I’m willing to pay people back—I just need some support to get through this rough patch. In high school, I was voted most likely to be homeless because I was, and that’s something that’s always weighed on me. I’m determined to never be in that situation again.
