In April 2025, I was diagnosed with hepatitis C. As I underwent more tests, doctors discovered cancerous tumors in my liver. Over the past year, I have been traveling back and forth to Stanford hospital to receive treatment. So far, I have gone through three rounds of treatment, and it has been incredibly tough—physically, emotionally, and financially. The radiation, the long trips, and the growing medical bills have all taken a toll. Thankfully, my point system has increased, which means I am moving up on the transplant list. While this brings hope, it also brings new challenges that feel overwhelming at times.
Once I receive the liver transplant, I will need to relocate to Stanford for anywhere from 90 days to 6 months. Finding a place to stay in that area is very expensive, and I will also need help covering meals for myself and my wife, who will be by my side as my caretaker. Meanwhile, I still have rent to pay at home and a daughter who is a senior in high school, so our finances are stretched thinner than ever. The uncertainty and pressure are difficult to manage, but I am doing my best to stay strong for my family.
Any support you can give would mean the world to me and my loved ones as we navigate this difficult journey. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference in our lives and bring us hope during this challenging time. Thank you for considering helping us get through this.
