Hello Family, Friends, Colleagues and All,

I have not been on social media since before my husband of 40 years passed away from a cancer called Multiple Myeloma in 2019. Since then, it has been a long, hard road. Back then, my son Richard moved in to help me through my painful journey. My son is a dad of two and has done so much for me and the family.

Recently, Richie went to the ER from work when he wasn't able to breathe. After a lot of tests and doctors discussing his condition, he was hospitalized due to Superior Vena Cava Syndrome and we found out he has a malignant tumor/tumors pressing on his airway and interfering with the blood flow to his heart. Soon, we found out that the tumors are Non Small Cell Stage 3 Squamous Cell Lung Cancer. Richie has begun radiation 5 days a week and chemotherapy treatments, which will continue for the next 3 months.

Several months ago, because he was off work twice with Covid, Richie lost his health benefits. He had almost worked enough hours to get his benefits back when he had to leave work to rush to the ER. He has been paying $700 a month for Cobra, and even that will expire in December 2023. Now, he is unable to work as he is treated, and the stress and fear is very real.
