Help Richard Otto and Family
Hello, Friends.
The good news is: Life happened! My Uncle, Richard Otto, has successfully received a new heart. We (my family) feared this day would never come because he had factors working against him. The day did come! Richard has a new heart! Now things are getting real.
Richard has weeks of physical therapy to get through - but just a couple days ago, he managed to walk 50’ with his walker! It’s a victory! Thing is, physical therapy is more than 2 hours from home, so my Aunt can’t be with him all the time. With both of them out of work, it’s hard to find the gas. My Aunt wants to work, but with a special needs child and his sister at home, she can’t leave them without expensive specialized care. Then when Richard comes home he will need 24/7 care for the foreseeable future - also expensive specialized care.
Then there are the anti-rejection drugs Richard will have to take for the rest of his life costing $1000’s a month. Their $1000/month insurance premium only covers a fraction of that. These things are on top of day to day expenses like: housing, groceries, electricity, shoes, all the things…
Our Family is rallying. We’re making a plan, but we need your help.
