Help Richard Keith McBride on His Road to Recovery

On September 17, 2025, Richard Keith McBride walked into the hospital filled with hope and faith, believing it would be his last day ever on peritoneal dialysis. He was preparing to receive the gift of life through a living donor kidney.

What none of us could have imagined was the journey that lay ahead.

Richard successfully received his kidney transplant that day. But just 24 hours later, he was rushed back into surgery when the new kidney failed to function. Surgeons flushed it and tried again, asking us to wait and pray. Despite everyone’s best efforts, the kidney ultimately had to be removed.

As if that weren’t enough, Richard endured yet another surgery when doctors feared an internal bleed. His abdomen had to be cleared, and he was placed on a ventilator to recover. What was meant to be “just precautionary” quickly turned critical—his oxygen levels dropped, and the doctors told us he might not survive the night. Richard had to be placed on ECMO, a life-saving machine that does the work of the heart and lungs.

Through God’s grace, and the power of prayer, Richard pulled through. Within two days, he was removed from both the ECMO and ventilator. While he still faces a long and difficult recovery, we know his healing is a testimony of God’s mercy and power.

Richard is a man of deep faith—always helping others, always trusting God’s plan. Now, he and his family are facing new challenges. Not only will Richard need to petition the National Kidney Registry for another chance at a transplant, but the family is also carrying heavy financial burdens. His wife has had to step away from work to stand by her husband’s side and help care for him during this critical time.

We are reaching out with humble hearts to ask for your support—through prayers, encouragement, and financial help if you are able. Every donation, no matter the size, will help the McBride family with medical bills, travel expenses, and household needs while Richard recovers and prepares for what’s ahead.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for lifting Richard and his family up in prayer, for sharing their story, and for helping however you feel led. This journey has been hard, but it has also been filled with God’s light and miracles—and with your love and support, Richard will continue to fight and recover.

Please pray, please share, and please give if you can.

The McBride family is forever grateful.
