My name is Richard, and many know me as @young_rich_23, (65K+ followers) a passionate roller skater and skate instructor. Life took an unexpected turn when my only car was totaled in an accident while I was driving for Uber. Although I wasn’t at fault, the insurance process dragged on, and by the time it finally came through, I had to use what I had to catch up on bills. Without a car to use for uber due to it being a total loss vehicle. I lost my main source of income and the freedom to do what I love most—teaching, skating, and traveling.

My journey hasn’t been easy. I grew up with narcissistic parents who struggled with alcoholism, and I worked hard to break away from that negative environment. I’ve been an 8th grade math teacher, a basketball coach, a special education teacher, and before all that, a basketball player myself. But it was roller skating that truly gave me a sense of purpose and joy. Uber allowed me to support myself, travel the nation, and even start my own clothing brand, “Young Rich Energy.” Without a car, though, I’ve been barely getting by and haven’t been able to invest in my dreams.
