Richard Elliott was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer at the beginning of 2025. As you may know, Stage 4 cancer is not curable, but it is something that medical professionals can contain to promote a longer, more quality-filled life. With treatment comes a laundry list of medications and travel. One of these medications is a chemo pill that is costing Richard and Eilene $1,900 a month after insurance. Add this to all of the other medications, radiation, chemotherapy, and traveling from Clarion, Iowa to Mason City, Iowa potentially several times per week, and it adds up to tens of thousands of dollars that the average person cannot afford.
Obviously, no one can eliminate this disease that more and more people are affected by each year, but people providing small donations can allow me to have additional time with my grandfather, which to me is priceless.
Last thing... Not everyone can provide financial support, which is understood and respected. However, you can provide spiritual support and we will take all of it.
Thank you. The family appreciates your considerations.
