My name is Jennie Rice. My uncle, Richard East, had a massive brain aneurysm rupture on Friday, 4/4/2025, and has been in ICU ever since. He has had several medical procedures since then, and I have posted updates on my Facebook daily. He is a single father, hard worker, and one of the most generous people I know. He and his oldest daughter own their own construction business; they are both very talented and do everything from home repairs, additions, handyman services, upgrades, etc.
Uncle Rich has been in and out of consciousness since his original surgery on 4/4/25. He has had several medical procedures and is currently battling his second round of pneumonia. Today, they are going to do a tracheotomy and also give him a gastronomy tube. His children have spent 12-18 hours per day at his bedside advocating for him. His oldest daughter (who works with him) has not been able to work due to being at the hospital every waking hour.
If you know this family, you know they would do anything for anyone. They have often done jobs for free because people are struggling, even if that means leaving themselves to struggle. I am starting this GoFundMe not knowing the outcome of my uncle and his specific needs at this time. What I do know is the bills don't stop because you are in ICU; the bills don't take a break for crisis.
So while we don't know about the long-term needs for Uncle Rich at this time, we do know that his home bills and family could use some financial support at this time.
I will continue to post updates on Facebook and ask that you would follow along and PRAY for Uncle Rich along with his three children, Julia, Andrew, and Olivia. If you feel led to give financially, it would be greatly appreciated as well. If you can't give financially, we still covet your prayers. We know that ultimately God is in control! We are praying for a miracle and asking God to guide the doctors and give peace to the family in the waiting.
Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
