My name is Karen Goff and I am starting this fundraiser for our dear friend Richard Black. Richard has been a member of Heart of Texas Retriever Club and Waterloo Retriever Club. He has been an AKC Junior Hunt Test Judge. He is a friend not only to the Retriever community but also has many friends across Texas through his work. He has suffered the most unimaginable tragedy.

On Friday, October 25, 2024, at approximately 2:00 pm in the afternoon, Richard's home burned to the ground. Everything he had inside—his clothes, his furniture, his food, all his belongings—are a total loss. The sheriff was able to save Richard's dogs. The fire started from a spark from a neighbor welding next door. After starting his own business and the cost of that, the age of his trailer house made insurance unaffordable and he had to cancel it. He is currently living in his shop, which was saved by the volunteer fire department. His electrical pole was burned, so he has been loaned a generator to have electricity. URGENT immediate need is to complete the bathroom in the shop that needs a septic system put in so Richard has a bathroom and to build onto his shop a small apartment he can live in.

Richard is truly the guy that would give the shirt off his back to help others and never ask for anything for himself, ever! All proceeds will be for Richard to rebuild a place to live.

We are praising God for his protection over Richard and his dogs. Any amount you can give will be so helpful to someone who literally lost everything. I just cannot imagine how this would feel, can you? Please give from your hearts as Richard would if we needed him.
