For nearly 30 years, Richard Billingsley has been a fixture in the world of college football. In 1997, he launched CFRC.com, offering free, in-depth college football rankings and data to fans across the country. CFRC.com quickly became a trusted resource for fans, analysts, and journalists nationwide. What began as a teenager’s passion and hobby evolved into a system so respected it was included in ESPN’s College Football Encyclopedia and adopted by the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) in 1999. This was a dream come true for Richard - his ranking system playing a meaningful role in shaping the college football national championship conversation.

Through it all, Richard stayed true to his mission: Keep college football rankings free and accessible to all. He never placed content behind a paywall and never charged a dime for access. For nearly 30 years, he has worked tirelessly season after season to make that promise a reality.

Now Richard Needs Our Help

In 2022, Richard was diagnosed with a rapidly-progressing form of Parkinson’s Disease. In early 2025, he suffered a stroke, and just hours after being discharged from rehab, he fell and broke his hip, requiring emergency hip replacement surgery and additional weeks in rehabilitation.

Despite these major health challenges, Richard is still working on his rankings for the 2025 season. His ability to work on these is greatly impacted by his level of care, and home health aides have been necessary for daily care in order for Richard to remain at home. After paying for this care out of pocket, his funds have been completely exhausted.
