Greetings to All,
My name is Richard Myers, and I have been battling Stage 4 cancer since I was diagnosed during September 2023. The cancer has spread throughout my body, and while every day brings challenges, I continue to fight with faith, determination, and the support of family, friends, and all of you.
My Journey
Over the past two years, I have endured countless treatments, procedures, and rounds of chemotherapy. The side effects are brutal—constant pain that ranges from a steady 2–3 level of pain, to spikes of level 10+ pain when I breathe, and even when I laugh or giggle (which is one of my favorite things to do). Some days I fall asleep standing up because even the touch of my own skin is painful.
But I still smile. I still live. I still laugh when I can. I refuse to let cancer take away my spirit.
Last year, I had severe bleeding from tears in my colon that required procedures and blood infusions. More recently, scans revealed three new growths in my liver (now four total) and that cancer is eating away at my 8th rib—making two ribs already compromised. My energy is low, breathing is painful, and the cancer tries daily to dim my light. But with God’s strength and your support, I endure.
Treatment & Financial Need
My current chemotherapy isn’t stopping the cancer, but it is slowing its spread while doctors monitor my rib tumors for potential clinical trials at City of Hope. To qualify, I had to undergo a biopsy that cost thousands of dollars, which I had to put on a credit card.
I am now asking for your help to relieve the heavy financial burden of these treatments. Your donations will go toward:
• Paying off the biopsy and other medical bills
• Covering the cost of ongoing treatments
• Allowing me to focus on healing and qualifying for trials that may extend or save my life
How You Can Help
I cannot do this alone. Your generosity—whether through donations, prayers, or simply sharing this page—gives me the strength to endure, the hope to keep going, and the ability to focus on healing instead of debt.
Thank you for lifting me up through your love, prayers, and good vibes. With your help, I will continue to fight, to laugh, and to live.
With gratitude and hope,
Richard Myers
