My name is Kathy Rivers, and I live in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. I have setup this gofundme for my friend, Richard Bailey. Richard works here six months out of every year, then goes home to Jamaica to be with his family. He went home this year two days before the hurricane hit the island in a devastating way. He and his family live 25 minutes outside of Montego Bay, a pretty hard hit area. A large tree fell on his house, but it's still standing, unlike many homes in his area. He and his family make do on much less money than we have here in the U.S. He is having difficulty getting food right now because even if you have money, it's very scarce. One of the things that would help him would be the money to buy a chainsaw. He could then get work to help in the reconstruction once the cleanup is done. I ask for your help in giving him a little extra to make sure they are fed while the reconstruction goes on. I have been low on food a few times in my life, but never to the extent they are going through. Every little bit helps if you can see it in your heart to assist.
