Help Richard & Diane Boisseau Start Anew After Vermont Flood

Donation protected
My parents, Richard and Diane Boisseau, have experienced devastating and catastophic flooding two times in less than 3 weeks of their home of 50 years in St. Johnsbury Center, Vermont.

During the first flood on July 11th, the Passumpsic River filled their basement, garage, gardens, and yard with water, sludge, and silt. We had just finished mucking, drying out, and making progress only to to be battered by a record-setting flash flood on July 30th. This time, they were no match for Mother Nature. The ground beneath their feet is literally crumbling away into the brook. They will never be moving back into their beautiful home, and likely, no one ever will.

There are no two finer, independent, and generous people you will meet than my parents. They are retired educators. My father taught and coached at Danville High School, The White Mountain Academy, and St.Johnsbury Academy in addition to serving with the VT Agency of Education and St.J school board. My mother taught 1st and 2nd grade at the St.Johnsbury public schools, mentored new teachers, and poured herself into the lives of her students. They just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

For 50 years, they have lovingly created a beautiful home, inside and out, with their own two hands, on Northeast Kingdom teacher salaries. As difficult as it is for them to ask for help, they have given me their blessings to ask on their behalf. The financial burden of relocating and rebuilding will be too much for them to bear alone. Even with insurance, they have bills pilling up from the flood three weeks ago.

To know my parents is to know that they have never asked for anything. In fact, they are the ones who are always giving. Their generosity and thoughtfulness have helped others get through hard times of their own.

Funds raised will go toward helping them pick up the pieces and starting anew, at the age of 77. I pray that funds will give them hope during a very difficult and demoralizing time, and a clearer path forward through the chaos and uncertainty.

Let's help them feel the sunshine on their faces again. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any and all support you are able to help provide. We are so grateful for your compassion and generosity.
