For those who know Rich Mosley, it comes as no surprise that he loves his son, sports and adventure.  Whether it be surfing, snowboarding or playing golf. Unfortunately skateboarding is an activity Rich has rediscovered through the eyes of his son.

On the morning of April 7th, Rich and his son headed to Scotts Valley Skate Park. They arrived early and had the place to themselves like they have done for many months. Rich rolled into the main bowl and on the first turn had a wheel bite (when the skateboard deck and wheel touch and stop moving), Rich went flying!

The body slam would be a life changing event.  As his son held him up, they believed Rich dislocated his hip. It wasn’t until later in the ER, the Orthopedic Surgeons informed them that he broke his femur in half, just below the pelvis.  He had no choice but to have a total hip replacement. I know Rich likes trophies, but I’m certain a Cobalt Titanium hip is not what he wanted.

This is just another incident that has crippled Rich’s savings. Covid took his job for most of the year as a golf caddie at Pebble Beach, no disability insurance and the ongoing search with his mom, who lost most of her vision to Macular degeneration, find a long term care facility for his sister with special needs.

So we are reaching out through GoFundMe to help Rich make it through a summer of rehab, medical bills and all the things he needs to keep his family safe and secure in the months to come. Please give what you can to help Rich so by next winter he can return to taking his son to the surf, mountains and skate parks (as a spectator).
