This week, Rich Largo and Sandy Murphy-Largo experienced the unthinkable — a devastating fire destroyed their beautiful retirement forever home, the place they had poured their hearts, time, and love into for years. In an instant, a lifetime of memories, hard work, and treasured belongings were gone. Family photos, heirlooms, furniture, keepsakes, and personal items — all lost in the flames.

If you know Rich and Sandy, you know they have spent their lives giving to others and uplifting the communities they’ve called home. They are the kind of people who open their door without hesitation — offering long-term stays when family needed a place between homes, hosting legendary Christmas gatherings and joyful summer celebrations, and making sure everyone felt welcome.

They worked tirelessly to make their home a warm, inviting place — from adding a new roof, to planting gardens, to painting every corner with care. They quickly became woven into the fabric of their Murphy, NC neighborhood, building friendships and lending a hand whenever it was needed.

Now, they face the heartbreaking challenge of starting over from nothing. While insurance will help with some expenses, there are many urgent needs it will not cover. We are raising funds to help with:
