Help Rich Recover from ATV Accident
Donation protected
On Saturday, 9/11, Rich was in an ATV accident up north. He was immediately taken to McClaren Medical Center in West Branch where we were told he was suffering from many broken bones, including his ribs and collar bone, as well as a punctured lung. From there he was quickly transferred to McClaren in Bay City, and not long after their assessment of him he was again moved to Hurley Trauma Medical Center in Flint. He is currently on a ventilator to help him breathe, while also holding two chest tubes to help the drainage of his lungs. He has broken all 10 ribs on the right side, 7 on his left, and his left collar bone. This will be a long road to recovery starting with his lungs -getting him to breathe on his own again, and working towards the healing of his bones. They are looking into performing rib fixation surgery where they use titanium plates to reconnect the ribs. At this time we are reaching out for help with covering some medical expenses during his stay in the hospital and after. We are thankful for all of the thoughts and prayers from everyone. Much love, the Oakey family ❤️
