Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

We are reaching out to you today with heavy hearts to ask for your support for our beloved Rich Maxwell, who was recently struck by a vehicle while walking on the side of a road in South Carolina, during a road trip. The driver, not paying attention and driving at excessive speeds, hit Rich, causing him to suffer devastating injuries. His right leg was shattered, he sustained broken ribs, and most concerning of all, he suffered a serious head injury. Rich is currently in the ICU and will remain there for at least the next three weeks as he undergoes treatment and recovery.

This tragic accident happened far from Rich’s hometown of Buffalo, New York. His family is by his side in the hospital, but they are facing a difficult reality. Not only are they managing the emotional and physical toll of this crisis, but they also need to stay in hotels and make arrangements to be with him, as he will not be able to go home for several weeks. This means that his loved ones will be missing the holidays, as they’ll be focused on supporting Rich through this incredibly challenging time.

Rich is one of the most hardworking, generous, and selfless people you could ever meet. He has always gone out of his way to help others, whether it’s lending a hand to a neighbor, providing support to a friend, or simply making everyone around him laugh with his infectious sense of humor. He’s the kind of person who lights up a room with his laughter and always puts others first. Now, he needs that same love and support from all of us.

The road to recovery will be long, and the financial strain is overwhelming for his family. Medical bills, hospital stays, and the need for lodging during this time are adding up quickly. We are asking for your help to ease the burden on our family, so they can focus on supporting Rich through his recovery without the added stress of financial hardship.
