When I was seven, I would lie awake wondering why anything existed at all. Those questions never really left me.

My name is Ricardo Maldonado. I am a writer and independent researcher, born in Guadalajara, Mexico, and raised in Las Vegas. My path from a deeply religious childhood to a search for answers through science led to the questions at the heart of my book, "God Plays Dice".

I am asking for help because years of research, book preparation, and publication expenses have left me carrying substantial debt. I have invested significant personal money in this work and have not yet earned money back from the project.

"God Plays Dice" follows a question that has stayed with me: What if our Big Bang was the aftermath of something larger? The book explores a higher-dimensional blast hypothesis and what it would take to test it. That idea remains unproved. Being willing to question my own explanation is part of the story.

I wrote this book for curious people without a scientific background. It brings together my personal journey and explanations of the universe in language intended for everyday readers.

For anyone who has ever lost sleep beneath the night sky and refused to accept “that’s just how it is.”
