On Friday October 8th Ricardo Ortiz was playing soccer when he had to sit out due to a headache. As he sat he became dizzy, disoriented and ended up having a massive Ischemic Stroke accompanied by a seizure. He was taken to the nearest hospital and then transferred to another that was best suited for his needs. A catheter was placed to drain the bleeding and many tests were done, but they were not able to find an obvious cause for the stroke. The doctors said this was a massive stroke and are surprised that Ricardo is doing as well as he is. He has lost all motor function on the left side of his body and his road to recovery is expected to be long. The doctors said that a reasonable goal was for him to walk assisted in 3 months with inpatient and rehab helping during that time. It is too early to tell the extent of his neurological damage, but the damage is significant. The immediate loss of income and medical bills will be such a difficult path to navigate for Danii as she cares for the kids and for Ricardo after he is released from rehab. I am humbly asking for any help for this young family, so they can focus on the healing instead of the unfortunate financial struggles that they will be facing after this devastating event. Anyone that knows Danii knows that healing through energy is a big focus in her life, so I'd also ask for positive vibes and prayers especially in these first few weeks in ICU.
