Dear Friends,

On April after a long month battle against Covid19 that included a week of hospitalization I was discharged from the clinic here in Caracas Venezuela   #Covid19 free.

I am still dealing with the sequels of the virus in my body.  It affected my lungs and heart, doctors tell me full and complete recovery will be a slow process of 3 to 6 months.

I am taking various medications and I need to follow up with the cardiologist in about six weeks.

I am blessed by family and friends from different walks of life that became my Circle of Protection, thanks to you I reached the goal of raising  $10,000 to cover my medical expenses.

Getting sick of COVID19 in a country with the complexity of Venezuela is an enormous financial challenge, there are not medications available and if you can find them, they are only payable in US dollars and at an outrageous price. The government has managed to bring 700.000 vaccines from Russia and China but only to cover public servants in the first line of action. Venezuela is getting a surge of infections of more than one thousand cases per day.

Since March 13, Ricardo Moreno has been battling with COVID19. He is at home taking a lot of medications, the main concern is to keep his oxygen levels up and survive the virus. Two neighbors in the building where he lives passed away from COVID19 during the last two weeks

As you know, Ricardo Moreno has been a religious leader, pastor, civic activist, and independent consultant on political, social, and religious issues. He has given his life and career to fight for the eradication of hunger and poverty. Today he and his family need our help. Let's join forces to reach the goal.

Dear Friends,

I was diagnosed with COVID-19 a week ago here in Caracas Venezuela I have a severe case. I am isolated at my apartment receiving medical care from a doctor and a nurse. I have been in treatment already for a few days but now I need oxygen due to the complications of my lungs. This is adding up to the very high cost of medications and treatment.

I am asking all my friends from my 25 years of activism in the United States and my brothers and sisters in faith to help me because I can't face this situation alone.

Some family members and friends have helped to cover as many expenses as possible, but I wanted to ask the wider community of faith and social activist to help me to cover the illness expenses so I can defeat COVID-19 to continue with my journey of faith and justice as the champion I always has been.

Enfermarse de COVID19 en un país con la complejidad de Venezuela es un desafío financiero enorme, no hay medicamentos disponibles y si puedes encontrarlos, solo se pagan en dólares estadounidenses y a un precio desorbitado. El gobierno ha logrado traer 700.000 vacunas de Rusia y China pero solo para cubrir a los servidores públicos en la primera línea de acción. Venezuela está recibiendo un aumento de infecciones de más de mil casos por día.

Desde el 13 de marzo, Ricardo Moreno ha estado luchando con COVID19. Está en casa tomando muchos medicamentos, la principal preocupación es mantener altos sus niveles de oxígeno y sobrevivir al virus. Dos vecinos del edificio donde vive fallecieron por COVID19 durante las últimas dos semanas

Como saben, Ricardo Moreno ha sido líder religioso, pastor, activista cívico y consultor independiente en temas políticos, sociales y religiosos. Ha entregado su vida y su carrera para luchar por la erradicación del hambre y la pobreza. Hoy, él y su familia necesitan nuestra ayuda. Unamos fuerzas para alcanzar la meta.

Queridos amigos,

Me diagnosticaron COVID-19 hace una semana aquí en Caracas Venezuela tengo un caso severo. Estoy aislado en mi apartamento recibiendo atención médica de un médico y una enfermera. Ya llevo unos días en tratamiento, pero ahora necesito oxígeno debido a las complicaciones de mis pulmones. Esto se suma al alto costo de los medicamentos y el tratamiento.

Les pido a todos mis amigos de mis 25 años de activismo en los Estados Unidos y a mis hermanos y hermanas en la fe que me ayuden porque no puedo enfrentar esta situación solo.

Algunos familiares y amigos han ayudado a cubrir algunos gastos como sea posible, pero quería pedirle a la comunidad de fe y al activista social en general que me ayudaran a cubrir los gastos de enfermedad para poder vencer al COVID-19 y continuar con mi jornada de fe y justicia como el campeón que siempre he sido.
