Help Rianne Fight Triple-Negative Breast Cancer
Just a few short months ago, my beautiful sister, Rianne and her husband Max received the news they had been praying for—they were expecting a baby. Their hearts were full of excitement and hope for the future.
Then, in a matter of weeks, everything changed.
After the devastating loss of their pregnancy in early May, 30-year-old Rianne discovered a lump in her breast. Following a biopsy earlier this month, she was diagnosed with Stage III triple-negative breast cancer—an aggressive, pregnancy-associated cancer that doctors believe was accelerated by the hormonal and breast changes that occur during pregnancy.
For those who know Rianne, this diagnosis is especially heartbreaking because of the incredible person she is. She is a devoted wife, a loving daughter, the best sister, the kind of best friend everyone hopes to have, and quite possibly the world’s greatest aunt. She is the person who shows up for everyone else without hesitation, puts others before herself, and loves fiercely and wholeheartedly.
Because of the aggressive nature of this cancer, treatment must begin immediately. Next week, Rianne will have a port placed so she can begin chemotherapy. She will also be traveling to Utah to meet with oncology and fertility specialists to discuss treatment options and preserve future family-building possibilities. Following chemotherapy, she will undergo a double mastectomy.
As her family and friends, our greatest wish is for Rianne to focus all of her energy on healing and beating cancer—not on the overwhelming financial burden that comes with it. Between lost income, medical bills, travel expenses, and ongoing treatment costs, the road ahead will be challenging. She will not be able to continue her beloved nurse job and has had to step away from the military. This time in her life is completely heart breaking and we ask for people’s support.
We are asking for support to help ease that burden so Rianne and Max can focus on what matters most: her health, recovery, and their future together.
No donation is too small, and every contribution will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with your family, friends, coworkers, and on social media. Every share helps expand the circle of support surrounding them during this difficult time.
If you know Rianne, you know she is one of the strongest people you’ll ever meet. She is resilient, determined, selfless, and never one to back down from a challenge. While this journey will undoubtedly be difficult, we have no doubt she will face it with the same courage and strength she brings to everything in life. We fully believe she is going to fight with everything she has and kick cancer’s ass.
Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, generosity, and support. More than anything, we want Rianne and Max to know they are not walking through this alone.
